Egyptian Arabian Gelding

A very nice and loving older couple contacted Refuge Farms asking if we could take their two horses. They could no longer provide these older geldings with the care that they wanted them to have. THE FARM was full, but was able to establish the first Annex Location of Refuge Farms at one of the farms of one of the volunteers just west of Spring Valley. This is where Windsor and his companion, Star, now live with the same Three Promises and Missions of THE FARM.

You might think that because Windsor is an Arab that he would be prone to being rather hyper or aloof. This is definitely not the case with him. Windsor is very mellow and quite loving. However, having said that, we are learning that he is a horse with a unique personality and likes to create a bit of mischief whenever he thinks he can get with it! Such a character he is!

Windsor used to be a South Dakota State Champion four years in a row. And, he was also a cart show horse. Maybe it's because of all that talent that he thinks he should create some mischief? Windsor will be brought to THE FARM for some of the events so that all can meet him, and because he enjoys human contact so much.

Windsor is truly a dear horse. He loves to receive attention and affection from humans, and he will easily place his heart in your hands to take care of. You can feel the steadfast quality of the friendship he offers you, and you will be comforted as his heart shares with you that all is well.
